TOn December 3, 2025, the IBBA103 Accounting I class welcomed Professor Sladjana Čabrilo for a special guest lecture on AI and Knowledge Management. Her expertise provided students with crucial insights into how artificial intelligence is transforming professional landscapes and the enduring value of human skills.

Returning to classroom learning brought an engaged atmosphere as students eagerly explored emerging technologies and their implications for accounting and business strategy.

Professor Sladjana guided the class through AI's transformative role, stating “AI will radically expand the supply-side of knowledge production. Including ideation, content production, and communication.” She added, “AI democratizes the access to this ‘plentiful everything’” while emphasizing “AI can assist us, but it cannot replace the need for ongoing learning and skill development.”

She noted “Some companies prefer employees who have a good command of AI,” yet acknowledged “I noticed that there are moments when AI doesn’t deliver the support I expect.” One student asked, “Is it possible that one day in the future, humans will be completely taken over and replaced by robots and AI?” Professor Sladjana replied, “Not for at least the next 100 years,” explaining AI cannot think independently without human direction.

During Q&A, another student asked Professor Čabrilo: “What kind of industry do you think will have more work opportunities in today's;s AI world?” She answered that “Caring”, like nursing and medicine requiring emotional intelligence and human touch, remains irreplaceable. She noted AI can assist with precision surgery tasks but interpersonal skills like negotiation, coaching, caring, and ethical judgment will become even more valuable.

As the IBBA program progresses, Professor Sladjana's lecture reminds students that human capabilities strengthened alongside AI tools create true competitive advantage.
