《114-1 SA Event》SA’s Halloween Bash Thrills Students with Games, Costumes, and Community Spirit

On November 4, The Student Association turned up the spook—and the fun—this November night with a lively Halloween celebration that blended clever games, creative costumes, and a feast that brought classmates together. From the moment guests arrived, the evening was carefully choreographed for maximum enjoyment, and the result was an energetic, polished event that left everyone smiling.

Opening the night was an atmosphere made possible by a fast, thoughtful setup led by SA members Morgan and Yanek together with the event’s experienced host, Ronnie. The team’s swift stage and venue-design transformed the space into a convincing Halloween tableau: skull decorations, themed backdrops, pumpkin buckets, and colorful balloon arrangements set the scene and invited guests into the spirit of the evening.

The event began with a communal dinner—an informal feast of varied pizzas, assorted platters, and refreshing beverages—that allowed students to settle in, mingle, and catch up before activities commenced. Conversation and laughter over food created a warm, relaxed prelude to the night’s entertainment.

Once everyone had finished eating, Ronnie officially kicked off the party. As an accomplished emcee with extensive hosting experience, Ronnie guided the crowd through a well-paced lineup of activities, starting with a team-based challenge. Participants split into groups, received mission instructions, and set off to complete a chain of tasks. The room filled with playful competitiveness as teams strategized, cheered, and raced through challenges—moments of high energy that brought the community’s collaborative spirit to the fore.

The second game shifted to individual competition: each player was given a balloon that they had to protect from being popped. The objective was simple but highly engaging—be the last person with an intact balloon. The game showcased a delightful mix of aggressive tactics, clever defense, and surprisingly stealthy hiding strategies. Laughter, shouts, and the occasional burst of a balloon created a cacophony of joy that carried the party forward.

A highlight of the night was the costume show. Attendees poured their creativity into outfits ranging from nostalgic cartoon characters to iconic film personas, complemented by makeup that ranged from spooky to downright adorable. Whether strutting solo or teaming up with friends, participants lit up the runway and earned applause from peers. Three SA judges evaluated the looks, and first, second, and a three-way third-place finisher were selected—prompting an additional fun challenge to extend the celebration.

Because three contestants tied for third place, the host added an impromptu cookie-face contest: competitors attempted to move a cookie from their forehead to their mouth using only facial movements. The crowd swelled as more students joined in, employing funny faces, exaggerated expressions, and sheer willpower to win the treat—another instance of playful camaraderie that defined the evening.

Throughout the night, SA Vice President Sam doubled as official photographer, capturing candid side shots and formal group photos to preserve the night’s highlights. The event closed with a final group photo that reflected the evening’s success: students from IBMBA and GHRM programs, local and international peers alike, standing together with bonds strengthened by shared laughter and memories.

SA extends heartfelt thanks to Ronnie for his skillful hosting and to everyone who helped with setup and cleanup—your efforts ensured a smooth, efficient, and tidy event. The Halloween celebration demonstrated not only creativity and fun but the community’s capacity to come together and celebrate in style.
