Junes

Hi, I’m Junes! I come from a mixed heritage—Vietnamese and Taiwanese. Before joining the IBMBA program at National Sun Yat-sen University, I studied Business Management at National United University in Taiwan. My journey into this program wasn’t planned at first—until one of my professors told me, “This program fits you perfectly. Your personality and background belong in an international space like IBMBA.”
And they were right.
I’m talkative, curious, and I love connecting with people. I’ve always been drawn to conversations that go beyond the surface, and IBMBA became the perfect place to grow that side of me—where learning comes not just from books, but from the way we challenge each other, support each other, and explore the world together.
Learning Through Culture, Not Just Courses
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned here isn’t just academic—it’s understanding how people from different cultures think, express themselves, and solve problems. The courses are great, of course (shoutout to all the courses—for proving that pressure does create diamonds... especially during final presentations.), but what really changed me was how we’re encouraged to think critically.
Professors don’t just give us answers. They give us space—space to ask, to debate, to explore. And when you’re sitting next to someone from a totally different background, working toward the same goal—it’s eye-opening. I started to notice patterns, perspectives, and ways of thinking that no book could ever fully explain.
Learning Beyond the Page
Last year taught me more than any textbook could. I learned how to speak up, but also how to listen. I learned to trust the process—even when things felt uncertain. From class discussions and group projects to competitions and late-night bubble tea chats with classmates—every small moment taught me something.
This program isn’t about judgment or competition. It’s about community. It’s about growing into the person you want to be, surrounded by people who challenge and cheer you on at the same time.
Kaohsiung: A City that Feels Like Home
Living in Kaohsiung has been such a blessing. The vibe is calm, the cost of living is manageable, and the sea breeze? Perfect for clearing your mind. The city’s slower pace gave me space to reflect, to breathe, and to just be. It’s not only affordable—it’s truly livable. And that makes all the difference when you're working toward your future.
To Future Students:
If you’re wondering whether IBMBA is right for you—my answer is simple: if you’re curious, open-minded, and ready to learn not just from professors but from people—you’ll thrive here.
My advice? Be yourself, and be open to change. Talk to classmates from different cultures. Watch how they think, how they express themselves, how they see the world. Laugh together. Learn from each other. That’s how real growth happens—not just as a student, but as a human being.
IBMBA gave me the freedom to think, to connect, and to become more than I ever expected. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.
