《113-1 SA Event》 Crafting an Outstanding Profile and Career Insights From an Organization Development Manager, ‘Reianthong Vongseangkam’.

November 17, 2024—The Student Association of NSYSU International Programs recently organized an alumni sharing event where Reianthong, a Thai alumnus of the GHRM-MBA program at National Sun Yat-Sen University, shared valuable career insights and job-hunting tips with our international program students. These insights and tips are advantageous for students in the management department when they are job-hunting.

He shared valuable insights on OD and his experiences in the first half of the session. During his studies at GHRM-MBA, Reianthong was the founder of the Hult Prize at NSYSU and got an internship at the Rising Star Summer Internship Program of CTBC Bank in 2021 for two months. After completing his Master's degree from GHRM-MBA, he quickly secured a role as an Organization Development Manager at Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited, a multi-category retail leader and the flagship company at the roots of the Central Group in Thailand.

In the second part of the session, he gave attendees tips and suggestions when people are looking for jobs. He started by identifying the key skills and qualifications of the position they are applying for, which are crucial to creating LinkedIn profiles. After that, he also recommended highlighting irreplaceable achievements on the profile.

He also pointed out that referral is crucial when looking for a job. Reaching out to others' profiles on LinkedIn, alumni, and professors to create connections, focusing on reaching people related to the field that jobhunters want to work in.

The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session. We asked a wide range of questions. Attendees asked him to share his perspective as an HR professional and his experiences as an international student. When asked about the challenge of a language barrier, he stated that language plays an important role when you are working in Taiwan. He recommended attendees focus on international companies when they have a basic level of Chinese.

The last tip from Reianthong is to always reflect on yourself to know what you want and are. That will allow people to understand their identity and facilitate their lives in many aspects.

The online alumni sharing with Reianthong provided students with a unique perspective on how to be outstanding candidates. In closing, Reianthong encouraged students to "focus and reflect on yourselves to sharpen your sense of self.”
