Bhrandon
My name is Bhrandon, and I am originally from Venezuela. My academic and personal journey has taken me across different countries and cultures, ultimately leading me to Taiwan and to the IBMBA program at NSYSU.
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Tourism at the University of Seville in Spain. I chose this field because I wanted a program that combined my interest in international environments with analytical and numerical skills, while also allowing me to make use of my English proficiency. Through the International Mobility Program, I had the opportunity to come to Taiwan as an exchange student for one year. That experience became a turning point in my academic journey. It was my first close contact with Taiwan’s culture, language, and people, as well as with NSYSU’s truly international atmosphere. I enjoyed both the lifestyle and the university environment so much that I decided to return and apply for the IBMBA program. Professionally, I have also worked as a travel agent, where I gained hands-on experience in designing travel itineraries and providing customer service, strengthening both my organizational and interpersonal skills.
During the IBMBA program, I have not only acquired knowledge from each course but have also developed a deep appreciation for teamwork. Working in multicultural groups can be challenging at first, as we come from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds. However, through communication, patience, and mutual understanding, we learn how to collaborate effectively and achieve meaningful results together. This experience has strengthened my adaptability and intercultural competence—skills that are essential in today’s globalized world.
In terms of community and campus life, I feel that I have integrated very well into the local environment. I have had the opportunity to participate in several local activities, including Taiwanese indigenous cultural events, which enriched my understanding of Taiwan’s cultural diversity. Campus life at NSYSU is peaceful and inspiring. Surrounded by both the beach and the mountains, the university offers a unique setting where students can balance academic responsibilities with moments of relaxation in nature.
Regarding my personal growth, I believe I am constantly learning, and I will continue to do so. Every day brings new experiences and valuable lessons. In the future, I hope to stay in Taiwan, further improve my Chinese proficiency, and continue building a life in this place that welcomed me warmly for the second time.
