A French alumnus of NSYSU's IBMBA program, Alexandre Mimault has built a career that reflects both his financial expertise and his passion for making a global impact. Currently, Alexandre is a financial analyst at a Paris-based infrastructure investment fund, where he focuses on helping mobile network operators in developing countries improve network reliability and transition to more sustainable operations. His role involves developing financial models for new projects and working with business partners across Africa to ensure the success of existing initiatives. Alexandre's current position, which he took on just four months ago, builds on years of experience in the financial investment sector.

Alexandre's job search was a smooth and well managed process. He found his current role through an online job board after an initial screening by a headhunting company. The platforms he relied on most during his job search in France included LinkedIn, Hellowork, Welcome to the Jungle and Jobs that makesense. His smooth transition into his new role was facilitated by his extensive background in financial investment and analysis, which began during his time in Taiwan and later continued in France.

Reflecting on his time at NSYSU, Alexandre credits the program with equipping him with the international business strategies that have been essential in his work. Understanding supply chain dynamics, particularly in the context of energy solutions, has been invaluable in his current role. In addition, the daily experience of working with classmates from different cultural backgrounds while studying for the IBMBA helped Alexandre to develop strong collaborative skills that have proved crucial in his cross-continental projects.

Before joining the IBMBA programme at NSYSU, Alexandre's career path already included significant international experience. He started his career in Taiwan, where he worked in financial control right after graduation. This early exposure to financial modelling and investment strategies, combined with the multicultural environment of his workplace, set him up for future success when he returned to France to work as an investment analyst. The experience of working in an international context proved to be a key asset in securing his current position.

Regarding the French job market, Alexandre acknowledges that it can be challenging for international students, especially those who are not fluent in French or do not have a French degree. However, he points out that certain industries, such as technology, luxury goods, wine and spirits, and gastronomy, offer promising opportunities for international talent, especially in major cities such as Paris. While the job market may be competitive, Alexandre notes that the right skills and cultural adaptability can open doors for international students.

In terms of job interview success, Alexandre emphasizes the importance of thorough preparation. While he did not rely on any particular connections to land his current role, he made a point of researching the company in detail and familiarizing himself with project finance terminology specific to the sector. His advice to job seekers is to show genuine curiosity about the company and its mission, and to ask insightful questions during interviews to stand out from other candidates.

For students considering a Master's degree in Taiwan, Alexandre highlights several incentives. In addition to academic excellence and experienced faculty, Taiwan offers an enriching cultural experience. Studying in Taiwan allows students to gain a deeper understanding of foreign cultures, learn Mandarin, and expand their knowledge of the Asia-Pacific business environment, all within a safe and enjoyable academic environment. For Alexandre, his time at NSYSU played a pivotal role in shaping his global career and broadening his horizons.
