My name is Christine Doan, and I am a master's student in the IBMBA at the College of Management of National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). Coming from Vietnam and traveling to Taiwan with my 7-year-old son to pursue this master’s course has been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding journey. The IBMBA at NSYSU has provided me with an exceptional education in international business management. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured to combine theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the complexities of the global business environment. The diverse and experienced faculty members have been instrumental in my academic growth, offering not only their expertise but also their unwavering support. Balancing my studies with parenting has been demanding, but the supportive community at NSYSU has made it manageable. The university’s understanding and accommodating approach towards students with families have been a significant relief. I have received tremendous support from both the faculty and my peers, which has allowed me to excel academically while ensuring my son also has a positive experience in Taiwan. The multicultural environment of NSYSU has been enriching for both of us. My son and I have made friends from all over the world, which has broadened our perspectives and deepened our appreciation for different cultures. This diverse setting has not only enhanced my learning experience but has also provided my son with a unique and valuable upbringing. Living in Taiwan has been an incredible adventure for my family. The country’s rich culture, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes have made our stay enjoyable and memorable. Kaohsiung, where NSYSU is located, offers a perfect blend of academic rigor and a high quality of life, providing a nurturing environment for both my studies and my son’s growth. The extracurricular activities and networking opportunities at the College of Management have been invaluable. These experiences have helped me develop essential leadership skills and build a strong professional network that I am confident will be beneficial in my future career. The support services, including career counseling and language assistance, have further enriched our stay here. Overall, my time in the IBMBA at NSYSU has been transformative. It has significantly advanced my academic and professional aspirations while also allowing me to provide a rich and diverse upbringing for my son. The knowledge and experiences we have gained here will be instrumental in achieving my career goals and positively impacting the global business community.
