IBMBA 106 Felix Chen came from an engineering background and worked as an engineer for a while. Afterward, he decided to enter NSYSU to learn more business knowledge. He hoped that he could apply engineering expertise and business thinking to the workplace. Before entering IBMBA, Felix received an offer to work in the Tokyo headquarter in a well-known Japanese clothing company. Although the company believed that he had sufficient English skills, he still thought that Japanese proficiency was a prerequisite for him to work in Japan. To have a better grasp of Japanese, he decided to join the exchange program in Mie University.
　　
When one arrived in Japan for the first time, the Japanese could be one of the biggest challenges. Felix admitted that when he tried to fit in there, the language was a very high obstacle to overcome. From the basic “Goujon” to the advanced honorifics “Keigo”, they all required a lot of time to learn and practice. To strengthen his Japanese listening and speaking, Felix made good use of the learning environment and interacted with local students actively.
　　
Speaking of things that impressed him the most, Felix thought that wearing yukata, a Japanese garment, to cultural festivals was unforgettable. Moreover, Felix mentioned his experience of visiting companies in the local tourism industry. He said that Japanese owners took customer feedback seriously and were willing to continuously improve their products and services. This was quite a takeaway for many companies in Taiwan.
　　
After finishing the exchange program, Felix would still recall the pleasant jogging time at the seawall at Mie University. The clean environment, the fresh air, and the campfire by the sea. Those times were his most memorable memories. He also cherished the time he went skiing, cherry blossom viewing and traveling with his friends.
　　
Turning what he had learned in Japan into energy, Felix stated that he still wanted to improve his negotiation skills and marketing analysis ability. He hoped that one day he can enter the international market and use his skills to succeed in the workplace.
　　
Felix also encouraged his junior student not to fear for the future.” When feeling anxious about the future, it is better to work even harder, cultivate the strength and experience you wish to have, and be well prepared. In this way, when the opportunity comes, you will have better odds to seize the chance calmly.”

106級的陳柏村從工科背景出身，在擔任一段時間的工程師後，進入IBMBA吸收更多商學知識，希望在未來可以將工科專長及商業思維一起運用在職場上。研究所入學前，曾接到日本知名服飾公司的來電，詢問到東京總公司的就職意願，雖然該公司認為他英文能力足夠，但他仍認為既然是到日本工作，日文能力還是相當重要，這也成為他前往日本三重大學交換的動機。
　　
初來乍到日本，首先面臨的是語言關卡。陳柏村坦言語言的確是在融入當地文化時一道很高的門檻，不管是基礎的五十音或是到進階一點的敬語都需要花大量的時間跟心力學習才行。為加強自己的日文聽說能力，陳柏村則善用環境優勢，積極與當地學生互動。
　　
說起印象深刻的事，除了著浴衣參加文化祭典外，陳柏村也提到他實際參訪觀光服務產業的經驗，他表示，日本的業主十分重視顧客回饋，也願意持續改進自己的產品及服務，這點相當值得台灣的許多廠商借鏡。
　　
學成歸國後，陳柏村仍會不時想起當時在日本三重大學的海堤慢跑的情形。乾淨的環境、清新的空氣以及海邊的營火聚會都是他難以忘懷的美好回憶。與同儕一齊滑雪、賞櫻及出遊的時光也歷歷在目。
　　
將在日本學習到的一切化作能量，陳柏村表示未來他仍想持續精進自己的商業談判技能及行銷分析能力，希望有朝一日可以進軍國際市場，將自己技能組合，並在職場上成功達陣。
　　
陳柏村也鼓勵學弟妹，與其膽戰心驚地擔心著未來，不如好好充實自己，培養有興趣的能力及經驗。如此一來，當機會真的來臨的時候，才能更從容不迫的抓住屬於自己的機會。
