《113-1 IB604》Dr. Sladjana Cabrilo discussed about Future Trends in Strategic Management
On December 5, 2024, National Sun Yat-sen University invited Professor Sladjana Cabrilo to deliver a lecture titled "Future Trends in Strategic Management" for its Business Strategy course. Professor Cabrilo’s talk focused on the impact of digitalization, innovation, and knowledge management strategies on modern enterprises.
Professor Cabrilo began by emphasising the importance of digital transformation, explaining its progression from data conversion (digitization) to process optimization (digitalization), ultimately reshaping business models and organizational cultures. She highlighted market forecasts predicting the global digital transformation market size to grow from $594.5 billion in 2022 to $1.5 trillion by 2027.
The lecture also explored the critical role of data literacy and digital skills in today’s work environment, addressing the rising prevalence of remote work and flexible work arrangements, including digital nomadism and virtual teams. Professor Cabrilo emphasized that these trends require organizations to invest in upskilling their workforce to meet the demands of emerging digital jobs.
Most of the session focused on knowledge management strategies, which Professor Cabrilo identified as essential for enabling digital transformation. She outlined key processes such as knowledge creation, sharing, application, and protection, emphasizing the importance of aligning knowledge management with organizational goals to convert tacit resources into competitive advantages.
Professor Cabrilo stressed the importance of agility in navigating uncertain and fast-changing business environments. Students wrapped up the lecture with group discussions, forecasting industry trends and strategizing on adapting to a rapidly evolving business landscape.
