New Perspective, New Horizon - IBMBA 2016 Japan trip

This semester on April 25th to 28thIBMBA program has conducted a field trip to Japan for students of Business Consulting Methods and Practice course. The purpose of this academic trip is to let students gain a new perspective of Asian business environment and corporate culture of Japan.  The trip is designed to cover various aspects of business and economy, examining cultural differences and likenesses between Japan and other Asian countries and ended by visitation to some well-known financial areas in Tokyo.

During this trip, students also went to Hitotsubashi University for a lecture by Professor Masahiko Takeda. The theme of this lecture was Japanese Economy and Monetary Policy, it provides a brand new perspective and new insights on challenges and opportunity that Japan is facing and current economic policy that has been taken by the government.

IB104 student Ariana Ohana from the US says:” This trip to Japan was not just an opportunity for me to discover new places, but also to bond with other classmates. I got to see the Japanese culture through the everyday working life and at the same time I got to spend time with my classmates while eating dinners, taking the subway and even sharing a hotel room.”

The most rewarding aspect about this trip is a combination of cultural exposure, academic knowledge and a series of fun activities that have allowed the students to see things from a new perspective, develop new ideas and meet influential people from respected companies in Japan.
